This web site is THE source for information about travelling along the Trans-Canada Highway
and travel around Canada. We have accumulated lots of route information (detailing over 3500 points along the highway), travel links, as well
as information about hundreds of communities along the way.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions!
Added in 2009: New "iTune-style" Home Page interface lets you select itinerary segment visually, or by pull-down menu, and itineraries now have improved maps (with choice of satellite, map, hybrid or terrain views). Itineraries now include a higher level of detail, including links to attractions, accommodations, First Nations, tourist information and relevant photos. On community maps we have drawn the Trans-Canada Highway route, a bike-friendly alternate (for those planning coast-to-coast bike trips), and for best route to access to downtown. You can now post point-specific itinerary feedback, suggesting additional highlights or adding a business to the itinerary.
With so much more data, you can now filter for features YOU want to see. If you are travelling with kids, you can filter for "Attractions" and "Family Amusements" to keep the young ones active and engaged. This visiting from other countries, may be more interested in "Parks" and "First Nations". When travelling a leg at day's end, you can add focus on "Lodging", which covers hotels & motels, wilderness lodges, and camping options.
We've cleaned up the layout, for those with larger monitors, so everything is easier to use.
Progress Note: This transition is still in progress, and covers from Victoria east to Sault Ste Marie. We'll update this notice until the entire highway is complete.
Added in 2007:Itineraries now added to the top menus in a drop-down list.
