Why Visit Vancouver Island?

This city is the jumping off point to visiting the rest of Vancouver Island, with its lowland wineries, its interior forests, and Tofino‘s west coast waves and whalewatching. There are many scenic communities worth visiting, off the Trans-Canada Highway track. Many are along the Island Highway, which is Highway #1 from Victoria to Nanaimo, which becomes Highway 19 north of Nanaimo.
