The British Columbia government has imposed a number of new travel restrictions for both provincial residents and others:
- Only “necessary travel” is permitted into and around the province
- Do not travel for a vacation
- Do not travel to visit friends or family outside of your household or core bubble
- Necessary travel is defined as
- Regular travel for work within your region (defined as your BC Health District)
- Travel for things like medical appointments and hospital visits
- Police may do random checks for ID and purpose of travel
- may check for travel between health districts in-province (including at BC Ferries terminals)
- may check for purpose of travel into province at provincial boundary (like at the Alberta-BC order)
Other Public Health Restrictions are (and remain) in effect in BC, including
- prohibitions on indoor dining at restaurants, breweries, and wineries (only patio dining, take-out, or drive-through allowed)
NOTE: Unlike Ontario, which had specific exemption for MOVING A HOUSEHOLD, BC has not stated this, so the regulations are unclear on this issue.
