Why Visit Vancouver?
Vancouver is “Hollywood North”, and has great shopping, dining, and nightlife. Visitors enjoy sunning at the close-by rugged beaches, rollerblading and sightseeing around Stanley Park, kayaking or sailing on the many waterways, and hiking, biking or skiing in the North Shore Mountains (and nearby Squamish and Whistler). All this fun is right at your fingertips!
Vancouver Area Communities
There are many scenic communities and municipalities worth visiting around Greater Vancouver (or the “Lower Mainland”) and even more further east in the Fraser Valley.
Vancouver is a city of great neighbourhoods (see map, below) though here are the most charming and historical neighbourhoods close to the popular downtown waterfront & Stanley Park. There are relaxing (almost off-the-grid) coastal communities along the Sunshine Coast, to the northwest of the BC Ferries Terminal at Horseshoe Bay. There are also some very rugged towns and landscapes to the north of Vancouver, along the Sea To Sky Highway #99.
There are also many visit-worthy communities in the lush region to the east in the Fraser Valley, and by ferry ride over to Victoria and Vancouver Island
