The Flying Dust First Nation is located on the northeast side of the City of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. The area is home to some of the most fertile farmland in northern Saskatchewan around the City of Meadow Lake.

The Flying Dust First Nation is located on the northeast side of the City of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. The band has a current membership of 1471 people with 600 living on the reserve. The area is home to some of the most fertile farmland in northern Saskatchewan. The City of Meadow Lake is an important service centre to the north western part of the province and provides many services and conveniences to that region.
The Wood Cree Tribe of Indians, concluded a treaty near Fort Pitt in 1876.The Flying Dust First Nation currently consists of 12 parcels of land totalling 7700 hectares (19,000 acres). Under the current Treaty Land Entitlement (TLE) structure, the band is entitled to purchase an additional 4000 hectares (10, 000 acres) of land. To date, Flying Dust has purchased 9400 hectares (23,000 acres). The band is in the process of securing their full TLE.
