Gitanyow First Nation
Gitanyow, aka Kitwancool; is a small First Nations community of 450 located 15 mins up the Alaska – Stewart highway from Kitwanga BC ( only a two-minute drive off Hwy 37). Known as the “Land of the Totems”, it is a popular Tourist Destination boasting 20 standing Totem Poles.

If you require services when visiting Gitanyow (Kitwancool), the Gitanyow Gas Bar is conveniently located right near to the totem poles, with free parking for RV’s, pay phone, rest rooms, slushies, soft ice cream and a convenience store. The facility is only a two-minute drive off Hwy 37.
