A stroll through Downtown Barrie close to the waterfront is quite a treat! The area has lots of specialty shops, boutiques, restaurants, entertainment, galleries and cinema. Select some fresh produce from The Barrie Farmer’s Market at City Hall on Saturday mornings. Or take a tour and a taste at the Robert Simpson Brewery along with a sampling of Barrie’s history. Enjoy a fine meal at one of our unique restaurants offering everything from pub fare to fine dining. Cap off your day with dessert at one of the coffee houses, or gear up for a night of fun at one of our watering holes!
Bayfield Street
Take the Bayfield Street Exit (exit #98 off Hwy 400) to find numerous plazas, restaurants and shopping malls including Georgian Mall, the largest shopping centre in the Barrie, Huronia and Muskoka district. Bayfield Street is also where you will find the largest LCBO in Central Ontario.
Dunlop Street
The Dunlop Street Exit (exit #96 off Hwy 400)will bring you to two unique shopping areas. East on Dunlop Street will take you into our heritage Downtown Barrie area. Heading west you will find Cedar Pointe Business Park.
Molson Park Drive
Take the Molson Park Drive Exit (exit #90 off Hwy 400) and head west to reach the Barrie Power Center on the south side of Mapleview Drive. ‘Go big’ at the big box stores such as Home Depot, Pier One, and Chapters.
Heading South
Just fifteen minutes south of Barrie are antique hunting at the Barrie Antiques Centre, the 400 Flea Market and Antique Mall off Innisfil Beach Road (Exit #85), plus a wrath of discounted brand-name attire at the Cookstown Manufacturer’s Outlet Mall (Exit #75).
Orillia
Downtown Orillia
Downtown Orillia is a revitalized heritage area with 200 shops and services, just a short stroll from the Port of Orillia and the Trent-Severn Waterway. There are specialty shops, decorating, restaurants, ladies and men’s shops, banks, florists, gift shops, book stores, jewelry, footwear and beauty salons. The Main Street Mall is alive with activity in the summer months, featuring seasonal businesses elling clothes, snacks, souvenirs, licensed patios, beach toys, jewellery and more. Spend time at the Arcade or brave the Haunted House.
