The Town of Grimsby lies on the western edge of the Niagara Peninsula, and is on the eastern outskirts of Hamilton , nestled between the southwest shore of Lake Ontario and the base of the Hamilton Escarpment. It is a picturesque agriculture-based community of 27,000 (2019), with a small town atmosphere with all the modern amenities of a larger city. The Town of Grimsby has undergone a transformation with a substantial housing boom over the past decade, and is a popular bedroom community for Hamilton, with a lower cost of living and better quality of life.. Ball’s Falls Conservation Area

Ball’s Falls Conservation Area is a 218 acre Historical Park. The discovery and settlement of Ball’s Falls when Americans loyal to the British, migrated north to Upper Canada, and in 1807 1200 acres of land was sold to John and George Ball, who’s families tended these lands for more than a century and a half. In 1809, a grist mill was built for the inhabitants of Louth for the grinding of their grain, which still stands today.

Ball’s Falls consist of Two Waterfalls and a bedrock gorge where Twenty Mile Creek cascades over the Escarpment. The upper Ball’s Falls drop 35 ft, and the lower Ball’s Falls cascade 90 ft. The park is open to the public all year round. Ball’s Falls has camping, picnicing and hiking facilities. The Bruce Trail, Twenty Valley Trail and other trail systems are marked throughout the natural areas of Ball’s Falls. Guided tours are available all year through the Museum.

This area has access to Bruce Trail hiking with a magnificent view of the Sixteen Mile Creek. as it cascades over a 50-foot waterfall over the Escarpment.
