In the Sault Ste Marie area, there are two key retail districts, where you can find pretty well anything you’re looking for:

Queenstown – DowntownShops along Historic Queen Street

This historic area includes most of downtown between Wellington and Bay streets, but the emphasis is on the older shops along Queen Street (that’s why is “Queenstown”), west of Pim. The area includes many major tourist attractions along the St Mary riverfront along with some museums along Queen Street around Pim. Keep in mind that the downtown includes a number of one-way streets, mostly in an east-west direction.

I-75 Business Spur

Check out the I-75 business spur, which includes the Sault Shopping Plaza and Cascade Crossings Mall. This area includes major stores like Walmart, Glen’s Grocery Store, J.C. Penney, Payless Shoe Source, K-Mart.

Downtown Sault, Michigan

This area is accessed via Ashmun from Easterday off the International Bridge. There are lots of nice little shops in some very old stone buildings on the American side of the River, and a number of interesting tourist attractions on this side, to boot.

NOTE: There is a shuttle bus that crosses the International bridge that only costs $1 (Canadian or US) that makes it easy for you to shp the other side.
