Clyde River, PEI

Clyde River is a small community located in Queens County, Prince Edward Island. West of Charlottetown on Highway 1. The area is home to a number of historic buildings and landmarks, including the 1883 Clyde River Baptist Church, and the 1889 Clyde River Schoolhouse, which serves as a community center.
Settled in the late 1700s by Scottish immigrants, who were attracted to the fertile farmland in the area. The community was named after the Clyde River in Scotland, which was a significant source of inspiration for the early settlers. The was an important transportation route in the early years of the settlement.
By the late 1800s, Clyde River was a bustling hub with a sawmill, gristmill, blacksmith shop, and other businesses serving the region.
