Elizabethtown, Yankee Hill and French River were all names for this community, which lies on scenic Highway 20 past coastal cliffs and wooded slopes overlooking the Gulf of St Lawrence. The peninsula north of town is Cape Tyron.
The Manor of Birds, at nearby Stanley Bridge, displays over 700 mounted species of birds and butterflies from around the world. Close by, at South Granville a few km to the southeast, you can take a hiking trail in the Devil’s Punchbowl Provincial park with its rolling hills and mature hardwood forest.
