Regina International Airport

Regina International Airport, or “YQR” (its international aeronautical designation) was Saskatchewan’s first licensed airport, having been opened in 1923, soon after fliers returned home from World War One. Regina’s airport handles 826,506 passengers and 51,800 aircraft movements a year (2005). The terminal is 7 kilometres southeast of downtown, directly west of the Legislature.

From the airport, the best way into town is by taxi (Trips between downtown and the Airport are about $8-$9, definitely one of the cheapest rides in Canada.) You can also rent-a-car (cost varies). If you are planning to stay in Regina itself, everything is close together and a short walk from the core.

For those on a budget, you can (almost) take public transit which passes close by the airport, though not into the terminal.
