There was an extreme flooding event due to a tropical “atmospheric river” event July 21-22, this past weekend. Many low-lying bridges were washed out by the volume of water, particularly in the Windsor area, south of the Trans-Canada.
Current Conditions (Monday July 24th)
Trans-Canada Highway 104, 105 NOT AFFECTED by flooding, but there are significant closures due to flooding and bridge washouts, in areas south of Truro. Historic flooding hits Nova Scotia amid torrential downpours. This weather event appears to be heaviest rainfall in Halifax area since Hurricane Beth in 1971.
Highway 101 along the Bay of Fundy south shoreline is in good condition and open. There is one spot: Highway 101 just west of Windsor , which is undergoing repairs this week, with a local detour route available
Highway 102 Truros to Halifax is in good condition and open.
Highway 103 along hte Atalntaic coastline south of Halifax is in good condition and open.
